Are you intimidated by showing up on reels or struggle with coming up with content? Or maybe you're somebody who shies away from Instagram Reels because you don't want to feel silly on camera. Or maybe you're looking for a time-saving hack that works! Whatever your motivation, today's tip is for you!
Now, there's been a trend you might have noticed on Instagram Reels. As you're scrolling through content, more and more posts are leveraging b-roll content. This is amazing because it's a content style that anyone can do, and it's working to capture engagement!
If you've never heard of b-roll, it's a type of video footage where you're not directly speaking into the camera and can be a more natural approach. It can also be used to feature listings and communities.
To best explain it, imagine you're watching a video of me sitting at my desk writing a podcast episode. That footage can be seen as b-roll. Or have you ever seen a video of someone pouring coffee into a cup? That's b-roll.
And people are taking their creative b-roll and using it as the background for their reel content! This makes it incredibly easy to create reels on a variety of topics without having to constantly film new content or try new trends.
For you to give it a try, it's easy! Set up your phone and film yourself working at your computer, putting a yard sign in the yard, walking down the street, getting an open house ready, or simply enjoying your morning cup of coffee. Anything can become your b-roll!
Then, you can take just a few seconds of that footage and put any text over it that you'd like. You could use the footage to share real estate tips, info about yourself, or even community content. The text you put on the reel and the info in the caption is where you include the value of your post. Just be sure to pair this footage with trending audio, and you'll have a quick reel that stops people's scroll and gets their attention.
