Productivity Hack: Using Auto Transcriptions in Your Real Estate Marketing & Business

Do you ever feel like you could use an extra day in the week or just one more hour in the day? With a never-ending list of things to do, you might find yourself constantly playing catch-up, which is not a situation you want to find yourself in! Now, I can relate and know exactly what it's like to manage busy days and ongoing demands.
That's why I'm always on the lookout for productivity tools and hacks that save me time and make me look my best. So, in today's episode, I'm revealing my favorite new tech tool that seamlessly transcribes audio to text. And you might be surprised by all the ways this tool makes you more productive by saving you time on note-taking, aiding in customer communication, and even maximizing your real estate marketing content.
If there's something new in tech, I'm somebody who can't help but be tempted to take a look. Because I firmly believe that the right tech doesn't cause headaches - it's supposed to relieve them! So, it's no surprise that when I started hearing about using AI to accurately transcribe conversations, I was intrigued about the use cases in real estate. As a podcaster, this is something that makes sense for me as a way to create written content from my shows. However, after using it for several months, I have to say there are surprising ways to leverage this technology to streamline your real estate business and marketing!

Transcription using AI tech is a similar concept to adding auto-captions to a video. So, if you've ever used the feature on Instagram to add captions to your video or used the auto-captions on YouTube, you've used a similar tech. The problem is, you might have been less than satisfied with the accuracy of the captions or not gotten much use out of the text outside of your on-video captions. This is a shame because there are so many uses for auto transcribing audio to accurate text!
That's why I was so excited when I came across Otter.ai.
What is Otter.ai?
According to their website, "Otter has your back - empowering you with real-time, accurate notes that are stored in one central, secure, and searchable place so you and your team can be more engaged, collaborative, and productive."
In a nutshell, it's a tech platform you can access online or through their phone app that works to transcribe audio in a way that's easy to read, share, and refer back to. It integrates with Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams to record the meeting audio and then provides you with an interface where you can read and refer back to the meeting later. It also gives you the ability to upload videos or audio files or record within the platform to create custom transcriptions. These features can be a huge time saver in your business!
How to Use in Your Real Estate Business
Have you ever missed a Zoom meeting or needed to refer back to a portion of a meeting?
If you're anything like me, you might not want to watch the replay of a long meeting. This is where Otter.ai really shines! Simply upload the video recording of the meeting or use the integration in real-time, and the platform will create a transcription of the meeting and even break down the audio by speaker. Then, you can easily scroll through the text to see what you missed without having to watch a lengthy video.
Likewise, if you remember a portion of the meeting you want to refer back to but don't remember if it was 15 minutes or 30 minutes into the conversation, Otter.ai can find it for you! You can easily use the search feature to find that portion and then read or even listen to the audio from there.
So, if you ever need to miss a meeting or are looking to enhance your note-taking, Otter.ai has functionality for both online and in-person conversations. While this makes a lot of sense for meetings you attend, this tech can also help your customer communication as well.

I often talk on the show about working smarter and not harder when it comes to your real estate marketing. We want to look for ways to maximize what we're doing and get the most out of it as possible. After all, regardless of what type of marketing you're doing, there's always a time or money cost associated. Otter.ai works to stretch your marketing.
Imagine you've filmed a video. That video can be used on YouTube, shared on social, uploaded to your website, or sent in an email. However, for all of those uses, you don't want to simply share the video. On YouTube you need a description. When you share on social, you need a caption. If you upload it to your website, you need text to go with it. And if you send it as an email, it can't be the video alone. You need text or copy for all of these examples!
